Unanimous approval for Dendridge Close Council Housing

We’re delighted to share that proposals for Dendridge Close received unanimous approval from committee members last week. Designed for Enfield Council, the proposals will transform two underused car parks into 27 new council homes just a short walk from Turkey Street overground station. The development is set to deliver 16 apartments and 11 terraced houses at 100% social rent.

Extensive consultation with the Local Planning Authority, residents, stakeholders, and designing out crime officers have shaped the design from the outset. Car parking, cycle parking, refuse and recycling storage are incorporated alongside, amenity space, landscaping and dedicated playstreets. An ambition for the scheme is to build opportunities for interaction and exchange into the fabric of the proposal, allowing space for a community to form and flourish.

The linear park bordering Site A is designated greenbelt land and will also undergo significant improvements as part of the redevelopment plans. Natural play elements, seating and additional planting will provide better outdoor space for the whole community to enjoy.

Site A will be home to a three-storey deck-access block containing 16 flats of dual or triple-aspect. Each flat has a balcony and gallery access that doubles up as a warm and inviting space, providing amenity for residents where they can take ownership. There are a combination of 3-bed and 2-bed flats, 3 of which have been designed to be wheelchair adaptable.

Site B will provide a single row of 11 terraced houses, with a combination of three and four-bedroom homes, each with a spacious garden and a dual-aspect outlook.

Once complete, Dendridge Close will provide much-needed affordable housing in Enfield. Congratulations to the design team on such a fantastic planning result!
