Station Site, South Ockendon in for Planning
This proposal for South Ockendon, Thurrock, utilises a vacant brownfield site adjacent to South Ockendon Station to deliver 38 new homes. The site is constrained by the adjacent railway line and the requirement for maintenance access set against the demand for high-quality family homes with safe, engaging amenity and boundaries.
The design features three typologies, including a terrace of 3 and 4-storey mews-style properties. The majority of homes are walk-up flats and duplexes with their own front doors to the street, arranged along a mews offering a more intimate street character. The mews provides maintenance access for the railway while providing an opportunity for dedicated play space, overlooked by private terraces with a communal atmosphere.
The mixed tenure scheme has been designed to excellent energy performance levels and is currently in planning.
