Granary Square wins Civic Trust Award
We’re thrilled that Granary Square Pavilion is one of only twenty-four projects to be recognised with a National Civic Trust Award.
The project acts as a gateway to Coal Drops Yard and completes the corner of Granary Square as well as providing public lift access between Granary Square and Lower Stable Street and public WCs. A café space activates the corner.
The façade is fabricated in cast iron in a pattern derived from the molecular structure of coal in a design that recalls the industrial heritage of the site.
In reviewing the scheme judges commented that the project is a “Real quality and delightful piece of commercial architecture. Contextually right.”
