Consultation on major Westminster development
Design proposals are out to consultation on a comprehensive redevelopment for Westminster City Council. The new development on Church Street will see existing post-war housing blocks replaced with 1,100 new mixed-tenure homes, new public open space, a new library and community space, retail, workspace and infrastructure and public realm works supporting the
street market.
Bell Phillips Architects are working on the first of the three plots comprising over 400 homes, a new library, new landscaped public realm, retail space and infrastructure supporting the market with a view to making a detailed planning application later this year, subject to the upcoming public consultation. The development will be tenure-blind with 50% affordable and all communal space accessible to all.
