St. Chad’s shortlisted in Housing Design Awards
St. Chad’s in Tilbury, Essex has been shortlisted in the Housing Design Awards. The project, which is the first for Thurrock Council’s wholly-owned company, Gloriana, comprises 128 affordable and private-rented family homes. The project looks to the heritage of Tilbury with axial swales oriented towards the cranes of Tilbury Docks that provide communal amenity and sustainable drainage for the site, and the use of red brick inspired by Tilbury Fort.
